Long-term users
Long-term users are the most impacted users of an application’s new design. This is because long-term users are the ones who are used to using the application, and when a change happens, it may affect how they are using the application. Redesigning an application should not change many things in the application not to confuse the user (Friedman, 2019). It should not let a user learn something new or change their habits of using the application (Friedman, 2019). If the application has to have new features, then there should be an explanation of the changes in simple language and avoid using technical jargon that may make it hard for a user to understand how to use the application.
The opinion of all the users of the application impacts the design process. User’s opinion matters a lot in the designing process because if users do not like the user interface of an application, they may stop using it (Adhiazni et al., 2020). User opinion help designers to create an application interface that is user-friendly and pleasing for the user to engage with. Getting the opinion of the users should include what the users do not like about the application to help the design team correct the design to fit the users’ expectations (Adhiazni et al., 2020).
It is valuable for a company to update interface designs to correct any design flow that the application may have. During use, users may face different problems when using the interface; hence redesigning an interface helps solve those problems ensuring users have the best experience using the application (Adhiazni et al., 2020). Redesigning a user interface perfects the functionality of an application because, during its use, the design team may identify the areas that the team may improve to ensure the application is working perfectly for the users (Adhiazni et al., 2020). Redesigning the user interface of an application ensures capturing the changing needs of the users. With evolving technology, new interface needs and designs come up, and redesigning the application helps to incorporate these changes into the application’s user interface (Adhiazni et al., 2020).
