Individuals’ quality of life is something I’ve always tried to improve, and wellness helps with that. There has been a growing emphasis on the subject of mental health, wellness, and the effects of this factor on a person’s whole social and economic situation. The idea of wellbeing varies greatly depending on context, and the Oxford definition of wellbeing states that it is a “condition in which individuals feel comfortable, healthy, and joyful.” Regardless, the definition is larger in scope, and it can be deduced that it encompasses additional characteristics like as social connections, personal relationships, work-life balance, and other similar things. Furthermore, it is tied to the individual’s perception of personal fulfillment, as well as their motivation and style of thinking (Mentalhealth, 2015).
People believe that happiness is something they should strive for. The aspect of well-being is often regarded as one of the most crucial components in achieving satisfaction. The global context of wellbeing examines several aspects of a person’s existence, such as poverty, social status, and appropriation for or against a person (such as racism, sexism, and so on), in order to comprehend the overall fundamental need for a healthy human life. Elements such as the Millenium Declaration, The Rockefeller Foundation, The Bellagio Initiative, and others have worked via a variety of channels to bring wellness to the forefront of global consciousness (Theguardian, 2011).
In the United Kingdom, well-being techniques take into account a person’s life phases. Early childhood, young adulthood, maturity, mid-life, and late ages are the phases when well-being is addressed. It is understandable that the UK places a high value on workplace health and defines good practice as the aspect of ensuring that the components of demand, control, support, relationships, role, and change are all addressed (Croneri, 2019).
This research tries to explicitly explore how essential well-being is for improving an individual’s quality of life. Furthermore, it aims to comprehend the significance of wellness in giving security and keeping a person secure. It aims to comprehend the consequences and solutions that may be generated from them. For this research, the ideas of the dynamic model of well-being and the psychological model of well-being will be employed to understand the effects of the same. The purpose of this report is to identify and evaluate the challenges, as well as to define the well-being of young people.
Discussion of major challenges concerning young people’s well-being
The mental health consequences of a lack of wellbeing in young people are major difficulties in the case of wellbeing. It is critical to recognize the influence of happiness on mental health. It is critical to assess how this impacts various persons, disturbs mental capability, and creates danger for individuals in terms of economic or societal stability. The most prevalent components may be identified as depression, self-harm, anxiety disorder, PTSD, and eating disorders. It is possible to argue that there is a shortage of treatments for around 70% of the people that suffer from this characteristic (Mentalhealth, 2021).

According to this paradigm, well-being is a byproduct of two aspects, namely, the problems in a person’s life and the benefits acquired as a result of dealing with various occurrences in life. The higher an individual’s score on the scale, the better his or her psychological well-being. As a result, it is critical to assess and grasp the same in relation to young people’s well-being.
The first of the six components of this scale is autonomy, with high scores indicating that a person can govern their behavior independently of any societal influences that may exist. According to Horwood and Anglim (2019), the second aspect is environmental mastery, which measures how effectively a response uses environmental opportunities and manages environmental and personal demands. The personal development component demonstrates how receptive an individual is to the case of learning and such other elements. In the case of good partnerships, the component is the major one for assessing the aspect of meaningful relationship interaction. The aspect of purpose in life reveals a person’s goal orientation, and the last factor of self-acceptance reflects a person’s attitude and behavior toward oneself.
This notion gives an overview of a person’s psychological well-being. It shows to be a crucial inventory in understanding the distinct requirements and challenges of individuals. This would be a wonderful overall indication of young people’s mental health in the UK, assisting in understanding their state and identifying areas that need to be treated more effectively.
Wellbeing Dynamic Model
The dynamic model of wellbeing was created with work settings in mind, where wellbeing is related with the interactions and connections that are generated inside it. However, the variables that are present may be replaced with environmental components that are present in a person’s surroundings in order to ascribe this model to the specified target group. This paradigm gives insight into the key factors that exist, such as the social structures in which a person operates. According to Akizu-Gardoki et al. (2020), this model examines systems, functionality, and experience before comparing the experience to an individual’s personal viewpoint to assess the influence on wellbeing.
In this regard, the organizational systems in this model may be seen as consisting of the aspects of social value, job design, work environment, and management systems. This may be used to the social framework within which a person operates. Furthermore, self-control, connections, and a feeling of development are self-oriented elements that affect an individual’s functioning. This model regards the “negative sentiments, pleasant feelings, engagement via work, and valuable work” components as indices of wellbeing acquired by individuals as a result of their surroundings. It tells whether or not the environment is safe for people to be in.
The sum of all of the aforementioned characteristics influences an individual’s vitality, work-life balance, confidence, and happiness. According to Bliese et al. (2017), the dynamic model is continuous and creates a base of correlation in self-driven components as well as the effect of other elements. It may be determined that a person’s personal resources influence his or her self-worth, which in turn influences all of the variables evaluated. Thus, conclusions gained show that this model is appropriate for describing a correct functional region in an individual’s life by taking into account the consequences generated by occurrences.
Drawing from this paradigm, it is believed that this helps young people comprehend their well-being as a result of the influence of the environment in their workplace. This enables them to comprehend the mental health implications and hazards in their workplace. The pressure point of the event, as well as the influence of the experience on personal resources, may be determined. This would also lead to explanations and elaborations that may be extended out in the case of self-functionality. As a result, this gives a comprehensive assessment of a person’s personal functioning in relation to external circumstances.
Discussion of programs and tactics that improve young people’s well-being
There is a diverse collection of activities and methods in place to improve the well-being of young people in general. Local governments have attempted to put in place a strategy to alleviate loneliness in young people via tailored care and close interventions on a very intimate level. These local governments want to work together to make improvements. Raising mental health and well-being awareness in schools, academies, and other institutions is one of the local strategies. Local governments also attempt to provide a foundation for robust volunteer work to address wellbeing and mental health inequities in order to guide young people. Collaborating with organizations such as CCGs and NHS England to ensure that acute and integrated services are available to protect young people from well-being concerns (Local, 2019).
Cross-cutting themes have also been established to plan the approach relevant to the wellness of young people. It may be determined that the comprehensive perspective, as well as the case of listening out young people and paying adequate attention, are fundamental components of this method. Closer fieldwork is required to properly grasp the challenges. Furthermore, it can be seen that the workforce of young people is another significant component that may be done and secured (Local, 2019). Furthermore, close collaboration with councillors is encouraged in the context of providing wellness services to young people in order to mitigate psychological repercussions on them. This also necessitates collaboration across several entities in order to have a cumulative effect.
The young people policy addressed a wide range of diverse issues that needed to be addressed. As one of the primary proposals, it may be assumed that funding for youth and family services will be raised. In addition, projects should focus on satisfying young people’s fundamental needs via a multifaceted approach. Additionally, marketing and program modification to young people were suggested to increase awareness and reach (Mentalhealth, 2021). This may be seen as aiming to create a solid support infrastructure that must be maintained and completed in order to ensure a higher rate of congruence in service delivery.
Conclusion
According to the findings of this survey, the biggest challenges affecting the well-being of young people are related to mental health. This implication of the issue of young adults has resulted in social marginalization and other negative consequences for the UK’s youthful population. As a result, the models of psychological and dynamic well-being give insight on how the effects of well-being might be assessed in these people. Young people’s well-being is thought to be influenced by a mix of internal psychological perception and personality-based elements, as well as external environmental influences. The total effects are shown via a combined impact.
The present initiatives may be classified as both local and national. According to the results, the existing structure incorporates intervention via localized channels as well as national channel-based cooperation. A special emphasis and attention is being placed on greater person-centered well-being for young people. The goal of providing wellness care across life phases and making it easier for individuals to receive it is also being emphasized. Among the areas for development is multicultural team cooperation, which still has to be fostered. This is necessary to ensure that the planned services can be performed with maximum rigor and efficiency.
