Long times waiting in the emergency rooms
Problems caused by long times waiting in the emergency rooms to customer satisfaction due to nursing shortages.
Nursing shortage leads to long waiting times, which has been a big challenge in the healthcare departments, especially in the emergency rooms. The long waiting is anxiety-reducing and frustrating, but the long patients are affected throughout the provision of the services to meet the overall customer satisfaction with the healthcare attendants (Chen et al., 2017). the situation gets worse if the patient can be kept waiting and, in the end, not get the care they need from their health providers and physician. Even though some waits are not unavoidable in the hospitals, they make sure it’s transparent and efficient to cater to the patients’ needs, especially on this issue of inadequacy of nurses.
Emergency room waits led to many frustrations to the patients, in queues and those who had made some appointments. From this scenario, the patients may see it as bad office management where the health physicians have no proper time management to attend to their patients. The patient may get furious and alter the abusive language to the medical providers, leading to disruption in the entire facility (Taylor et al., 2002). The patients may outlook the services and the level of care they get and thus may decide to look for other alternatives, for example visiting private hospital facilities or making a genuine appointment with the physician.
The long waiting affects the insight of the care and the immediate care the patients require. As observed, almost 30% of patients who leave the facilities have not attended due to the waiting time, which can cause a great problem to the victim’s health getting worse and even losing their lives (Itegboje & Asafe,2019). The long queues made invoke the image of the misappropriate handling procedures and poorly organized systems wok-outs.
