Information system

Information system (IS) is a combination of information technologies that involve databases, communication systems, software, the internet, mobile phones, and devices. The information system is a set of systems and collection of components, storing data, processing data, providing information, and providing digital products. The system is used in inter-organizational supply chains and e-commerce markets. The information system is more than technological systems and social systems. It investigates what happens when the systems interact. In a technological view utilizes both software and hardware. It utilizes the following procedures, analysis of the data, data retrieval from the database .the information from the information system is used for decision making.

Diffusion of innovations explains how innovation is accepted and taken up by the people. People perceive innovation as an idea. There are three insights for social change offered by Diffusion of innovations, which are the importance of peer-peer conversations, understanding the use of user segments, and qualities that spread the innovation. Quality that applies innovations; Diffusion of innovations is different from other theories. It doesn’t change people’s ideas, but it is more focused on the reinvention of goods and products.

Simplicity and ease of use .people believe that innovation is hard to understand, and therefore, when new and simpler methods come up, they are rapidly adopted than innovation. Thus innovation requires one to develop new skills for people to apply. Need of different user segments. The diffusion researcher knows that there are five groups which people can be divided into by using the way they adopt innovation. This includes early adopters, late majorities, laggards, and innovators. Each group has its reaction and personality regarding a certain technology.
