Eye Contact
Task 1
Eye contact is a non-verbal aspect of message delivery that I have to perfect further. I feel that I should further develop skills in maintaining eye contact during the delivery of the speech. While delivering a speech, as a speaker, I should maintain eye contact with the audience. I have a small weakness in this important non-verbal speech delivery aspects. According to (Capecce 2021), the audience feels that the speaker is interested in effective listening of the message. Eye contact is an integral part of speech delivery, and no mare the number of audiences, the speaker has to build a relationship with the audience. Scan the audience makes every individual in the meeting feel that you are addressing him or her. To achieve this, I have to practice delivering a speech with an imaginary audience while perfecting eye contact skills.
Task 2
The body language I have his facial expressions. I am good at expressing the message or feelings through my facial movements. After watching Lynn Franklin’s video, I learned different skills that will help perfect my communication strategies. As a speaker, reading the mind of an individual is essential. The feeling and attitudes of the audience usually are express through their body language. Through non-verbal communications, there are three types of audience, listener, toucher, and looker. It shows that it is worth it to avoid treating everyone the same way. Paying attention to the body language of eth audience helps you build rapport with them (2021). It is crucial to support the present speaker’s ideas so the audience will concentrate on paying attention to the message.
