Billy Cosby’s Sexual Assault Cases

Billy Cosby’s Sexual Assault Cases

Bill Cosby is one of the best-known actors and a comedian in the United States of America and even the globe. Cosby was at one point convicted of felony indecent assault. He was tried on three accounts by one of his colleagues Andrea Constand. On the three accounts, Cosby was allegedly found guilty of sexual assault. Ms. Constand said she termed Cosby as a friend and a mentor to her; he went forward and made unwanted sexual affairs. In 2006, they both settled the lawsuit, and she was paid. However, prosecutors went forward and re-opened Ms. Constand’s case when they realized that Cosby had not run short of limitations when more than 60 women came forward accusing him of sexual assault.

In 2015, 35 women shared their story on how Cosby assaulted them sexually to New York Magazine. They claimed that he used to assault them at their homes and others in public. On the side of the defendant, Cosby maintained that his encounters were consensual. However, in Ms. Constand’s case, Cosby accepted that he pursued sex with young women. He even went forward and confidently claimed that his actions were not rape. Cosby’s use of words termed him to be unapologetic and a person who used his fame and powerful sedatives to assault women sexually. Most of the trials failed since the judge allowed for evidence on the plaintiff and the defendant’s side. Since accusations were increasing on the side of Cosby, he termed guilty of molesting women sexually.

Due to the rise in the number of allegations against the American actor, he lost his job from most US networks. Most of the agencies he was working for dropped him, and many universities revoked his honorary titles.
